ㅇ 안토니우 구테흐스 유엔 사무총장은 무역 긴장 고조, 정책 불확실성, 지정학적 분열 위험 등으로 어려운 투자 흐름이 더욱 악화되고 있으며 장벽이 높아지고 세계화가 퇴조하고 있다고 언급함
ㅇ 레베카 그린스판 UNCTAD 사무총장은 지난해 FDI 감소의 원인으로 지정학적 긴장과 국제무역의 분열 등에 따른 불확실성을 지적하며, 이를 투자자 심리에 '독'이라고 표현함
ㅇ 그린스판 사무총장은 올해 상황이 더욱 우려스러우며, 이미 투자 중단을 체감하고 있고 관세가 성장에 영향을 미치고 있음을 밝히며, 일자리와 인프라에 실질적 영향을 끼치는 투자가 하향 추세인 점에 대해 매우 걱정스러운 흐름이라고 강조함
□ 국가 및 지역별 FDI 유입 동향은 상이한 결과를 보임
ㅇ 지난해 미국으로의 FDI는 전년 대비 19.6% 증가한 2,790억 달러(약 383조원)를 기록한 반면, 미국 기업들이 해외에서 진행한 FDI는 26.1% 감소함
ㅇ 아시아로 유입된 FDI는 중국 내 FDI 유입이 29% 감소한 영향으로 전년 대비 3% 줄어듦
ㅇ 아세안(ASEAN) 10개국으로 유입된 FDI는 전년 대비 10% 늘어난 2,250억 달러(약 309조원)로 사상 최고치를 달성함
