□ 국제자금세탁방지기구(FATF)는 7월 9일 “북한은 계속해서 피해자들로부터 가상 자산을 훔치거나 갈취하고 있고, 불법 수익금을 세탁하기 위해 점점 더 정교한 방법을 사용하고 있다”고 지적하는 보고서를 발표함

□ FATF에 따르면 북한은 익명성을 강화하는 ‘가상화폐’와 자금 거래 대상을 감추는 기술인 ‘믹서’, 가상화폐를 중심으로 당사자들끼리 이뤄지는 ‘탈중앙화 금융’, 다른 가상화폐와의 교환을 촉진하는 ‘크로스체인 브릿지’ 등 점점 더 정교한 방법을 사용해 불법 수익금을 세탁함

□ 다만 FATF는 특정 업체의 분석을 인용해 일부 기업의 추가적인 사이버 보안 조치와 탈중앙화 금융(디파이)에 대한 협약 등 노력이 전년 대비 도난 금액 감소에 기여했다고 밝힘
